WE LOVE YOU!
We are blessed to have a diverse and loving community and are so lucky that you will all be here celebrating with us. You are here because we adore you, and accept you. Our differences are cause for celebration and makes our community interesting, engaging, and strong.
Pronouns: Pronouns are important and many of our guests are gender expansive. Please see the guide for information on pronouns.
Autism and Sensory Processing: Several members of our family are neurodivergent with various sensory processing disorders. Our celebration is meant to be a safe place, if you find you need a quiet corner there are many places in the museum to take a people break. If you see some uncomfortable children, know that their family members are taking care of them in the way that works best for them.
Children: Are part of our community, and welcome.
Attire: Wear what brings you joy. We will be wearing suits. You are welcome to wear whatever will make you feel good. The museum is in a historic train depot, with cobblestone floors. Consider your ankles when choosing your shoes. The exhibits are trains, so you'll be climbing up, in and around them.
Fragrance: Scents can be overwhelming for people with sensory processing disorders. Please leave your fragrances at home.
Allergies: We have guests with many food allergies and have tried to make menu that meets their needs. We also have guests with flower allergies. There will be no fresh flowers.
Gifts: You, are our gift. If you need to express your love with a gift we would love a handmade item, a record that makes you think of us, a card with a memory, or advice on living happily.
